Theodis' earthly temple is now resting in the care of Veasley Funeral Home. Revelations 21:4 says "And God shall wipe away all tears from their eyes; and there shall be no more death; neither sorrow, nor crying, neither shall their be anymore pain, for the former things are passed away." Theodis Veasley, 93, of Conway, Arkansas was born September, 17, 1923 to the late Samuel L. Veasley and Rosie Thomas. At an early age, he accepted Christ as his personal Savior and united with Friendship Missionary Baptist Church where he served most of his life. He attended Friendship School and joined the Army on February 9, 1943. He received four Bronze Stars and a Medal of Conduct while serving his country. Theo worked for Clarence Day Food and Grocery Store and Smith Ford of Conway for a number of years. He moved to Denver, Colorado and worked for Apec Auto Body for 19 years. After retiring, he returned to Conway, Arkansas and opened up as owner/operator of Veasley's Auto/Body Shop. Theo is preceded in death by three brothers, Henry Veasley, Sr., Robert Veasley, Tommy Veasley, Sr. and one sister, Rosilee Veasley Robinson. He leaves to cherish his loving memory, his devoted wife of twenty-nine years, Theola Veasley; one son, Theardis (Renae) Veasley of Conway, Arkansas; four step-children, Clara (Benjamin) Evans of Detroit, Michigan, Clarence (Rhonda) Williamson, Jr. of Detroit, Michigan, Sharon (Gregory) Williams of Conway, Arkansas, Denise Williamson of Detroit, Michigan; two grandchildren, Sheila Veasley of Denver, Colorado, Schuna (Rickey) Veasley-Wright of Denver, Colorado; eight step-grandchildren and a host of nephews, nieces, cousins, friends, and family members. Visitation will be held, Friday, November 11, 2016 from 12noon-6:00pm at Veasley Funeral Home. Funeral service will be held, Saturday, November 12, 2016, 1:00pm at Greater Friendship Missionary Baptist Church, 146 Taylor Circle, Conway, Arkansas 72032. Interment will be held, Monday, November 14, 2016, 12noon at the Arkansas State Veterans' Cemetery, 1501 W. Maryland Ave., North Little Rock, Arkansas 72120.
