Williams’s earthly temple is now resting in the care of Veasley Funeral Home. Revelations 21:4 says "And God shall wipe away all tears from their eyes; and there shall be no more death; nor sorrow, nor crying, neither shall there be any more pain, for the former things are passed away." William Ervin Canady passed away on August 25, 2020 at Conway Regional Hospital. He was born on July 23, 1941 to the union of Joshua Andrew “J.A.” Canady and Lizzie Canady (Thompson) in Morrilton, Arkansas. He was the sixth of nine children. His parents; three brothers, Lee Andrew Canady, E.J., Harvey Cobin; one grandson, Jamall Ervin Canady; one great-granddaughter, Keyawana Kennon all preceded him in death.
William accepted Christ as his Lord and Savior at an early age. He was baptized and united with the Hickory Hill Baptist Church in Morrilton, Arkansas. The family relocated to Menifee, Arkansas in the 1950’s where he united with the St. Mark Baptist Church. William graduated from the Conway County Training School in Menifee. He was employed at AP&L/Energy and retired after 37 years of service. William loved baseball, he was the coach and pitcher for the team in Menifee. He also loved basketball, fishing, working on cars, sitting outside talking to his friends, waiting on his grandchildren to get off the bus and being an electrician.
William leaves to cherish his loving memory, his wife of 58 years, Lovon Canady (Smith); four daughters, Felicia Canady of Menifee, Arkansas, Shunaka (Joe) Wright of Morrilton, Arkanas, LaDonna Canady of Conway, Arkansas, Jasmine Canady of Menifee, Arkansas; two sons, William (Tammy) Canady, Jr. and George Wayne Canady both of Conway, Arkansas; one foster son, Percall Higgins of Tucson, Arizona; six grandchildren; thirteen great-grandchildren; one brother, Marcus Canady of Morrilton, Arkansas; four sisters, Nancy (Everett) Byers and Wanda Canady both of Morrilton, Arkansas, Betty Byers and Dorothy Day both of Kansas City, Missouri; three brother in laws; six sister in laws and a host of other relatives and extended family.
Walk through visitation for family and friends will be held Friday, August 28, 2020 from 12:00pm-6:00pm at Veasley Funeral Home.
Celebration of life graveside service will be held Saturday, August 29, 2020, 10:00am at the Menifee Community Cemetery, Menifee, Arkansas.
