Alma's earthly temple is now resting in the care of Veasley Funeral Home. Revelations 21:4 says, "And God shall wipe away all tears from their eyes; and there shall be no more death; nor sorrow, nor crying, neither shall there be any more pain, for the former things are passed away." Alma Jean Watkins passed away on January 23, 2025 at the age of 81 in Conway, Arkansas. Born on May 9th, 1943 in Dermott, Arkansas. Alma was a beacon of love and faith, cherished by all who knew her. A devoted woman of God, Alma was known for her kind and caring nature. She excelled in her roles as a mother and grandmother, embodying warmth and wisdom that profoundly impacted her family and community. Alma's home was a welcoming space where love and laughter were abundant, thanks to her hobbies which included sewing, cooking, and various arts and crafts. These activities not only brought joy to Alma but also to those fortunate enough to receive her hand made gifts or enjoy her delicious home cooked meals.


Alma is preceded in death by her father, Johnson White; mother, Otharine Lee Burns; sister, Annie Pearl Webb, and granddaughter, Candace Watkins.


Alma leaves behind a loving family who will miss her dearly, including her children, Wanda Watkins, Brian Watkins, Michael Watkins, Mack Watkins, Jr., Marilyn Calvin; her cherished grandchildren, Stephanie Powell, Derrick Watkins, Brianna Watkins, Brishanna Watkins, Marceese Watkins, Natasha Figures Bolden, Yolanda Reed, Raydreonna Robinson and a host of other relatives and friends. She was a guiding light in their lives, and her legacy, love, and kindness will continue to live on through them. Alma Jean Watkins was a remarkable woman whose life was a testament to the power of kindness and faith. Her memory will forever be cherished by those who knew her.
