In profound sadness, the staff of Veasley Funeral Home & Cremations, Inc. want to express our sincere condolences to the Brown family. Brenda's earthly temple is now resting in the care of Veasley Funeral Home. Revelations 21:4 says, "And God shall wipe away all tears from their eyes; and there shall be no more death; nor sorrow, nor crying, neither shall there be any more pain, for the former things are passed away." Be assured that in the days ahead you will surely gain strength from the memories of Brenda Brown.

Brenda Joyce Brown was born on July 31, 1948 in Bigelow, Arkansas to the late Dazerine Terry Malcum and Homer Lee Brown. Brenda was the first grandchild to her beloved grandparents, Arizona and Lula Brown (Mama Lula). She accepted Jesus Christ as her Lord and Savior at an early age. She went home to be with the Lord on Saturday, January 11, 2025 at Conway Regional Hospital in Conway, Arkansas.
After graduating from East End High School in Bigelow, Arkansas, Brenda moved to Chicago, Illinois. She lived and worked in Chicago for the majority of her life while raising her son, DeCarlos Blacklock. She and her son moved back to Arkansas in 2008. Brenda enjoyed being back in Arkansas with her family. She loved telling stories about her life in Chicago with plenty of jokes to add to the humor.
Brenda was preceded in death by her parents, her brother, Douglas Malcum and sister, Louise Nelson. She leaves to cherish her son, DeCarlos Blacklock of the home. She is survived by her son, four sisters, Sharon Sisk of Conway, Arkansas Evelyn Easterwood of Friendship, Arkansas, Donna Malcum of Houston, Arkansas, and Myra Everette (Bobby) of Pottsville, Arkansas; three brothers, Preston Brown of Kansas City, Missouri, Kenneth Brown of Houston, Arkansas, and Timothy Wayne Brown (Cynthia) of Thomasville, Georgia; and a host of nieces, nephews and cousins.
Walk through visitation for family and friends will be held Friday, January 17, 2025 from 12:00pm to 5:00pm at Veasley Funeral Home.
Celebration of life service will be held Saturday, January 18, 2025, 1:00pm at Pleasant Hill Missionary Baptist Church, 38 Hill Loop, Houston, Arkansas.
Committal service and final resting place will be held at Pleasant Hill M.B.C. Cemetery, Houston, Arkansas.
