Brother David Lee Jones was born on March 12, 1941, to the late Alberta Anderson and Glen Jones in Caldwell, Texas and was the oldest child. On the morning of March 4, 2025; our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ came and whispered in our beloved Father, Grandfather, Brother, Uncle, Cousin and Friends ear “come with me”, your work here on earth has been completed.
Brother Jones was known by many as The Leader of his family, the Preacher, the Insurance Man, the Jail Minister, Mentor, Interpreter, and most of all for trying to win souls for Christ. He loved his family and church family dearly, and let's not forget fishing, gardening and traveling. He never met a stranger. Brother Jones was a minister for over sixty (60) years until his health started to fail him. He ministered at Muller Street Church of Christ in Gainesville, Texas, 9th and S Street Church of Christ in Fort Smith, Arkansas and Comb & Willow Street Church of Christ in Fayetteville, Arkansas.
He met the love of his life Doris Marie in 1962; and walked over twenty-five (25) miles every weekend just to see her, now; that was real love! After a couple of years dating, they were married, and their first child Kathie was born, followed by Keloriest and Lydia. He has now been reunited with his wife Doris, daughter Keloriest, grandsons: Dion, Tyrone, Edwin and his parents. O what a time they are having. His favorite words to his family were “You’d better get your house in order, cause one day we all gonna have to face the Almighty God.”
Brother Jones leaves to carry on his love and memories: two (2) daughters: Kathie and Lydia Jones of Fort Smith, Arkansas. Fourteen (14) grandchildren, twenty-eight (28) great- grandchildren, one (1) great -great grandchild. Sister George Adams of Dallas, Texas, brother William Charles Anderson of Fort Worth, Texas; and a host of nieces, nephews and friends.
