In profound sadness, the staff of Veasley Funeral Home & Cremations, Inc. want to express our sincere condolences to the Hood family. David’s earthly temple is now resting in the care of Veasley Funeral Home. Revelations 21:4 says, "And God shall wipe away all tears from their eyes; and there shall be no more death; nor sorrow, nor crying, neither shall there be any more pain, for the former things are passed away." Be assured that in the days ahead you will surely gain strength from the memories of Mr. David Hood, II.

David L. Hood II transitioned into his eternal rest on Saturday, February 26, 2022 at Conway Regional Medical Center, Conway, Arkansas. David, best known as “Lil David” entered this earthly realm on November 1, 1981, in Conway, Arkansas to David Hood, I and Ann Marie (Reece) Owens Hood.
He was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, Queenetta Owens and Silas Owens, Sr and his paternal grandfather, Rev. Charles T. Hood.
He professed his belief in Christ at a young age and was baptized at Solomon Grove Missionary Baptist Church in Twin Groves, Arkansas. He was a professional American Bully dog breeder and a member of the American Bully Kennel Club (ABKC). He found much joy in caring for his dogs. He took a great pride and had a lot of success in his business — Captain Hood’s Kennel.
Lil David loved and was very protective of his family. He was truly a “Big Brother” to all his siblings. He was also well-known and respected amongst his peers.
He leaves to love and cherish his memory, one daughter, Davianna Mitchell of Little Rock, Arkansas; his parents, David (TyKesha Criswell) Hood, Sr of Menifee, Arkansas, Ann Hood-Kennedy of Lawrenceville, Georgia; his grandmother, Helga Hood of Menifee, Arkansas; his “Bonus Mom”, Vanessa Hood of Springfield, Arkansas. He had a very special friend of 10 years, Amy Scott of Conway, Arkansas. From this relationship, he added two bonus daughters and four bonus grandchildren. He is also treasured by his seven siblings, Lakeshia Toney of Conway, Arkansas, Shanika Hood of Lewisville, Texas, Candice Armstrong of Conway, Arkansas, Chemia Woods of Menifee, Arkansas, Corderoll Hood of Conway, Arkansas, LaToya Hood of Menifee, Arkansas, Zachary Hood of Menifee, Arkansas, and a host of nieces and nephews, aunts and uncles, cousins, friends, and extended family he called “Conrads.”
Walk through visitation for family and friends will be held Friday, March 4, 2022 from 12:00pm to 7:00pm at Veasley Funeral Home.
Celebration of life service will be held Saturday, March 5, 2022, 2:00pm at Philadelphia Baptist Church, 3849 US Hwy 64, Menifee, Arkansas 72107.
Committal service and final resting place will be held at Menifee Cemetery, Menifee, Arkansas.
