In profound sadness, the staff of Veasley Funeral Home & Cremations, Inc. want to express our sincere condolences to the Zanders family. Edward’s earthly temple is now resting in the care of Rowell-Parish Mortuary. Revelations 21:4 says "And God shall wipe away all tears from their eyes; and there shall be no more death; nor sorrow, nor crying, neither shall there be any more pain, for the former things are passed away." Be assured that in the days ahead you will surely gain strength from the memories of Mr. Edward Zanders.

Edward Carlton Zanders was a gift from God to the late Edward Jack Zanders and Anita Louise (Walton) Davis on Friday, July 18, 1969 in Americus, Georgia. He was called to his eternal heavenly rest on Thursday, December 10, 2020 from Fort Smith, Arkansas. In addition to his parents, he is proceeded in death by his maternal grandparents, Willie and Sarah Walton.


Edward was educated in the Sumter School System. While in school, he was a member of the swim team. He graduated in the class of 1987. He also attended Georgia Southwestern University. He was a member of the Union Tabernacle Baptist Church in Americus, Georgia, where he served until moving to Fort Smith, Arkansas in 2012. He became a member of Mount Moriah Missionary Baptist Church. He was a proud veteran of the United States Army. He was also a mason; he belonged to the Widow’s Lodge #3 of Fort Smith, Arkansas. He was also a record producer.

Edward was a selfless human being; he did not have a problem helping others. He never met a stranger, for he was an outgoing friendly person. He loved children of all nationalities; they would always easily steal his heart. He married the love of his life, Sara Dawn Foote, on Saturday, June 2, 2007. He was a loving husband, father, brother, Cousin, and friend to all. He will be greatly missed by all who loved and treasured him throughout his life.

Edward leaves to cherish his memories his wife, Sara Zanders; four sons, Anthony Hemingway, M’Kiyah Zanders, Edward (EJ) Zanders, Jr., and Carter Zanders; seven daughters, Tracy Wilkerson, Alexus Zanders, Jaeda Zanders, Tytianni (Kenyatis) Jones, M’Kyree Zanders, Charlize Zanders, and Carmen Zanders; a brother, Karl Zanders; three sisters, Stacey (Ricky) Towns, Kamika Davis Bush, and Tesha Zanders; his seven grandchildren, his one great-grandchild; his step-father, Charles Davis; his aunt, Johnnie Vaughn, a host of nieces and nephews, many other relatives and friends.
