Evelyn's earthly temple is now resting in the care of Veasley Funeral Home. Revelations 21:4 says, "And God shall wipe away all tears from their eyes; and there shall be no more death; nor sorrow, nor crying, neither shall there be any more pain, for the former things are passed away." Evelyn Marie Phillips was born July 21, 1957 to the late Wilbert and Edith Phillips in Little Rock, Arkansas. She departed this life on January 18, 2025. She accepted Christ at an early age and united with Sharon Baptist Church in Alexander, Arkansas under the leadership of the late Pastor Clarence Jackson. Evelyn later joined True Holiness Saints Center under the leadership of Pastor E.C. Maltbia in 1993. Evelyn was a long time and dedicated employee for South Western Bell Telephone Company (AT&T) and retired with 36 years of service in 2014. Evelyn was a woman who stood strong in her faith and allowed God to be the light that guided her path. Evelyn leaves to cherish her loving memory, children, Derrick (Anndrea) Veasley, Erika Veasley; four grandchildren, Ethan "Tank" Mitchell, Nathan Veasley, Jaxson Veasley, Emory Veasley; two sisters, Wilma (Austin) Reese, Barbara Phillips-Brown; niece, Lisa Brown; nephew, Chuck (Tamara) Metcalf, their children, Zayna, Amara, Miranda all of Little Rock, Arkansas, and a host of other relatives and friends.
Celebration of life service will be held Sunday, January 26, 2025, 1:30pm at True Holiness Saints Center, 198 Hwy 286 E., Conway, Arkansas 72032.
Committal service and final resting place will be held at Forest Hills Cemetery, 10200 AR-5, Alexander, AR 72002.
Evelyn, you were such a sweet soul! I feel so blessed to have known you. Your light was a true gift to our family, and we consider it a great blessing. Your earthly family will deeply miss you.
Thank you for always being in our corner. You will be missed greatly. Sending much love and prayers for your children and family during this difficult time.
