Revelations 21:4 says, "And God shall wipe away all tears from their eyes; and there shall be no more death; nor sorrow, nor crying, neither shall there be any more pain, for the former things are passed away." Geraldine Wilson was born on May 3, 1929, to the late Johnnie and Berdia Baker, in Conway, Arkansas. She passed away peacefully at her home on December 5, 2024.
She attended New Prospect Baptist Church in Russellville and was a Mother of the church – a past president of the Antioch District Mission, a former teacher of the YoungMen’s class, Sunday School teacher, sang in the choir as well as the secretary. Was a president of the Church Women United for many years and has attended State Assemblies. She spends her last days writing and clipping coupons and news articles. In 1948, she married Charles Wilson and moved from Kenwood to Russellville, AR. They were married 50 years until his passing in 1998.
Geraldine was preceded in death by her parents, Johnnie and Berdia Baker; husband, Charles S. Wilson, daughter Beverly Knox; siblings, Mary (Dollie) Johnson, Hattie Grey, Ruth Bannerman, Augusta Baker, Claudia Baker, Leonard (Buster) Baker.
Geraldine leaves to cherish her loving memory, two sons, Charles E. Wilson, Terry D. Wilson, daughter Lisa (David) Willis; a host of grandchildren, great-grandchildren, greatgreat-grandchildren; a host of nephews, nieces, cousins, friends, and special friends of the family.
Visitation for family and friends will be held Friday, December 13, 2024 from 4:00pm to 6:00pm at New Prospect Missionary Baptist Church, 321 S. Houston Place, Russellville, Arkansas 72801.
Celebration of life service will be held Saturday, December 14, 2024, 11:00am at New Prospect Missionary Baptist Church, 321 S. Houston Place, Russellville, Arkansas 72801.
Committal service and final resting place will be held at Reed Cemetery, 1501 S. Muskogee Ave., Russellville, Arkansas 72801.
