In profound sadness, the staff of Veasley Funeral Home & Cremations, Inc. want to express our sincere condolences to the Newman Family. King's earthly temple is now resting in the care of Rowell-Parish Mortuary. Revelations 21:4 says, "And God shall wipe away all tears from their eyes; and there shall be no more death; nor sorrow, nor crying, neither shall there be any more pain, for the former things are passed away." Be assured that in the days ahead you will surely gain strength from the memories of King David Newman.

King was born on July 2, 1950 in New Orleans, Louisiana, to the late King David Newman, Sr., and the late Delphine Florence Reddick-Newman.

He left to be with the Lord on May 18, 2023 in Little Rock, Arkansas. King attended McDonald 15 Elementary and McDonald 42 Middle School in New Orleans.

He graduated from Booker T. Washington High School in New Orleans, and afterwards enlisted and served in the U.S. Marine Corp.

King was never a stranger to anyone, and was always willing to help and assist anyone in need.

He was preceded in death by two (2) brothers: Robert Newman and Roland Newman; two (2) sisters: Rosemary Newman and Carol Ann Newman, all of New Orleans, Louisiana.

He leaves to mourn his passing one (1) daughter: Delphine Jordan, one (1) granddaughter: Koral Jordan and one (1) grandson: Banjamin James, Jr. all of New Orleans, LA. Two (2) sisters: Ola Mae Newman-Roache and Ida Newman-Skinner, one (1) brother: Walter Newman all of New Orleans, LA.

A host of nieces, nephews, cousins and in-laws, who will all truly miss him.
