In profound sadness, the staff of Veasley Funeral Home & Cremations, Inc. want to express our sincere condolences to the Sanders Family. Laura's earthly temple is now resting in the care of Rowell-Parish Mortuary. Revelations 21:4 says, "And God shall wipe away all tears from their eyes; and there shall be no more death; nor sorrow, nor crying, neither shall there be any more pain, for the former things are passed away." Be assured that in the days ahead you will surely gain strength from the memories of Laura Sanders.

Laura Louise Sanders was a blessing sent from God. She was born on October 22, 1942, to the late Fred and Celestine Palmer-Allison in Fort Smith, Arkansas. She was called to her eternal rest on Saturday November 2, 2024, at her home in Fort Smith, Arkansas.
Laura attended Fort Smith Public Schools and graduated from Lincoln High School. She later married the late Waldo Sanders, Sr. Laura was employed and retired from Dixie Cup Corporation after some twenty-five (25) years of service.
She loved spending time with family, and teaching her great granddaughter Saniya, how to bake cookies, cakes and pecan pies. Laura was a Cancer Survivor; she beat cancer four times, but; lung cancer took her from us. Her last days here, her loving Granddaughter Tiara, took care of her.
She was preceded in death by her mother: Celestine (Palmer) Allison and father, Fred Allison. Great Granddaughter: Sariah Mosley, Daughter: Tammy Sanders, Son: Waldo Sanders, Jr., Nephew: Cornelius Allison, Brother: Arthur Gibson and four (4) Sisters: Hilda Allison, Barbara Elam, Alfredia Harris and Paula Harris.
Laura leaves to cherish her memories: One (1) Daughter: Zona Sanders-Releford (Alonzo) Four (4) Brothers: Fred Allison, Jr., of Little Rock, Arkansas; Donald (Raina) Allison and Ira Harris both of Fort Smith, Arkansas. Michael (Lisa) Harris of Van Buren, Arkansas. Three (3) Sisters: Phyllis Houseman and Deborah Harris both of Fort Smith and Sharon Harris of Little Rock, Arkansas. Seven (7) Grandchildren and eight (8) Great Grandchildren.
Along with a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, extended family and friends.
Walk through viewing for family and friends will be held Thursday November 14, 2024, from 10:00am to 6:00pm. The immediate family will receive friends from 5:00pm to 6:00pm at Rowell-Parish Chapel 611 North 9th St., Fort Smith, Arkansas 72901.
Celebration of life service will be held Friday November 15, 2024, 1:00pm at New Covenant International Christian Center 4400 North N St., Fort Smith, Arkansas 72904.
Committal service and final resting place will be held at Oak Cemetery 1401 S. Greenwood Ave., Fort Smith, Arkansas 72901.
My Condolences to the Sanders family, Laura was a nice lady, she and my mother worked together at James River Dixie and they were very good friends, She is just a smile away from her family.
