Neal Andre Harris, the second child of three, was born August 8, 1968, to the late Mary L Harris-Welspom in Kansas City, Missouri. He departed his life in Kansas City, Missouri on September 1, 2023.
Neal accepted Christ at an early age and was baptized at Mt Pisgah Baptist Church in Springfield, Arkansas.
As Neal so often told, he graduated from several High Schools. Also held several degrees but was proud of his Over Seas Pro Basketball Career that ended due to an elbow injury….LOL. (insider). On a real note, Neal did attend Morrilton High School, in Morrilton Arkansas and later obtained his GED. An injury to his elbow shattered his dreams of ever being able to becoming a pro basketball star. But it did not end his love for basketball. He could talk your head off about anything and everything basketball, rather pro or college.
During Neal’s life he lived in Colorado, Georgia, and Missouri. He worked as a security guard and an assembly worker.
Neal loved his children, cars, dressing to impress and skating. He also loved hanging with family and friends and as he would so often say “Come on let me teach you a lesson” playing dominos or chess and always had a lesson in basketball for the children. While playing a game with him he say “I send you to school, give you books, and you still don’t know nothing”. Neal also had a love for music, cleaning cars and cooking. He would spend hours cleaning a car with the music loud and when he was done your car would look show room clean. When he would cook you a meal you knew it was cooked with love.
Neal leaves to cherish his memories two (2) children, Julius Harris and Naomi Harris of Georgia. He also leaves one (1) brother; Milton Harris of Arkansas, one (1) sister; Monique (Victor) Chambers of Missouri, eight (8) nieces, five (5) great nieces, three (3) nephews, three (3) great nephews and a host of aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends.
Walk through visitation for family and friends will be held Friday, September 8, 2023 from 12:00pm to 5:00pm at Veasley Funeral Home.
Celebration of life service will be held Saturday, September 9, 2023, 11:00am at Mt. Carmel United Missionary Baptist Church, 105 Arnold St., Plumerville, Arkansas.
