In profound sadness, the staff of Veasley Funeral Home & Cremations, Inc. want to express our sincere condolences to the Bynum family. Robert's earthly temple is now resting in the care of Veasley Funeral Home. Revelations 21:4 says, "And God shall wipe away all tears from their eyes; and there shall be no more death; nor sorrow, nor crying, neither shall there be any more pain, for the former things are passed away." Be assured that in the days ahead you will surely gain strength from the memories of Robert Craig Bynum.

Robert Craig Bynum, son of Maggie Jean Snipes and Bruce Bynum was born on January 19, 1962 in Conway, Arkansas. 

 

He was, a class of 1980, graduate of Conway High school, where he played multiple sports very well. He served a brief time in the Army. Craig worked with Covington Roofing Company for quite some time. His skills in plumbing and carpentry are still recognized throughout Conway and Fort Smith. God's grace covered him throughout his life. His unique personality will be remembered by many. 

 

He was preceded in death by mother Maggie Jean Snipes and father Bruce Bynum, grandmother Lennie Brooks and brother Ricky Griffin

He departed this life on December 24, 2024 at Baptist Health Hospital in Fort Smith, Arkansas.

 

He leaves behind six children. Four sons: Etaya Fowler (Marquita) of Conway, Arkansas, Antwan Fowler of Conway, Arkansas, Caleb Payne of Morrilton, Arkansas, Derrick Fowler (Sharonte) of Conway, Arkansas & two daughters: Brianna & Ashley Bynum of Morrilton, Arkansas; two siblings: Kathy Fuller of Conway, Arkansas & Tony Griffin (Gina) of Fort Worth, Texas; ex-wife Gloria Payne Bynum, Fourteen grandchildren Deanthony Fowler, Ariel McClinton, Zaniah Hardiman, Antwan Fowler Jr., Marquis Payne, Cameron Payne, Keenan Payne, Azari Foster, Emorie Fowler, Derrick Fowler Jr., Tariq Freeman, Donovan Dillard, Nahmir Hardiman and Teegan Fowler; great grandchild Jayvon Andrews along with many nieces, nephews, cousins, family, and friends.  2024 has come and gone and took a lot out of us all. He is no longer in pain. No more sorrow. No more suffering. Nothing but freedom . No more worries or complaints resting in a peaceful place.


Visitation for family and friends will be held Friday, January 3, 2025 from 12:00pm to 6:00pm at Veasley Funeral Home.


Celebration of life service will be held Saturday, January 4, 2025, 10:00am at Union Baptist Church, 1257 Lincoln St., Conway, Arkansas 72032.


Committal service and final resting place will be held at Robinson Cemetery, Conway, Arkansas.
